25 Feb - Road Club Training Camp

I have joined a french road club to help logistics for all the road races I want to do this year. They also invited me to the club training camp which was a good chance to get to know everyone. I was happy to find a really fun and easy going bunch, a lot less stressed then the last club I rode for. There are riders from many country's too, such as USA, England, Canada, and there's a lot of female riders, which is not so commen.

The camp was held in the Ardeche region, which dispite being just 3hrs from where I live, I had never been too before. It was a great discovery, as this area is a cyclist heaven. So many nice roads and historic towns to keep the interest. Accomodation was okay.. small rooms with bunk beds and a big cafateria serving the meals. The food, as often in France, was very average. They love to over cook pasta and veges and it was all a bit bland really.

I don't have many ambitions on the road except for doing nice training races, so I like the fact that I have no pressure and can race when and where I like. We finished the camp with a small race. The feelings were good, but I missed the winning brakeaway (as normal).
